This is the last game I completed in my yearlong time-span. Unfortunately, I did not meet my goal this year; life got a little too hectic this time around. Better luck next year!

Epic Combo! starts off with two modes (and a super groovy tune!). Your main goal is to score a 10,000 hit combo, achieved by taking a swing with your giant hammer at a whole nest of turtles and hoping for them to smash into as many fellow shelled friends as possible. You start off small, by taking a swing here and there, earning a few quick bucks as you go. Once you've stockpiled a little bit of cash, you head off to the store where you can purchase upgrades to help you in your ever-so-important turtle smashing quest. The upgrades you get are actually quite useful: a turret to target flying turtles after you smash them, some fancy lasers, proxy mines, buzzsaws - you name it! You can also open up to three extra valves to increase the amount of places the turtles spawn from, which subsequently unlocks an upgrade for each valve to increase the flow of turtles, which in turn allows for your combo to tally up that much faster.
Now, 10,000 turtles hit might seem like a lofty goal until you factor in the fact that the combo chain timer resets every time a turtle hits another turtle, allowing ample time to bring that combo up to epic proportions. After a couple of of the bigger upgrades, you are well on your way to a full Epic Combo, and thus victory over the game.
Overall, with the basic graphics and layout, this game is obviously meant to be simple and addictive. The previously mentioned music and the way the items interact with each other to create interesting combos brings the game up a little, but doesn't save it from the simple life it was destined to carry out (unlike the poor turtlekind).
